Middle States and C.A.D.I.E. Re-accreditation visit.

Three goals were established by faculty, parents and students and approved by Dr. María Ojeda Caribbean Regional Director for Middle States.  The goals for the next seven years are:

Goal 1:
By the end of the school year 2016, Cupeyville School students in the regular and Bridges programs from 6th to 12th grade will increase their performance in the Spanish section of Piense I, Piense II and College Board standardized tests from the baseline scores for the year 2008:

    1. 3% in the Piense I Test for students in the sixth through eighth grade from the regular program.
    2. 1% in the Piense I Test for students in the sixth through eighth grade from the Bridges program.
    3. 3% in the Piense II Test for students in the ninth through tenth grade from the regular program
    4. 1% in the Piense II Test for students in the ninth through tenth grade from the Bridges program.
    5. 3% in the College Board for students in the regular program
    6. 1% in the College Board for students in the Bridges program.

    Goal 2:
    By the end of the school year 2016, 4th, 6th, 9th and 11th grade Cupeyville School students will demonstrate improvement in English Language Arts vocabulary acquisition from the baseline scores for the year 2008 of the IOWA Test of Basic Skills:

  1. 70% of fourth graders will reach a mid year grade level or above in the vocabulary section of the IOWA Test of Basic Skills.
  2. 60% of sixth graders will reach a mid year grade level or above in the vocabulary section of the IOWA Test of Basic Skills.
  3. 50% of ninth graders will reach a mid year grade level or above in the vocabulary section of the IOWA Test of Basic Skills.
  4. 40% of eleventh graders will reach a mid year grade level or above in the vocabulary section of the IOWA Test of Basic Skills.
  5. 80% of students in the Bridges program will attain a six month gain of each student’s current level in the vocabulary section of the IOWA Test of Basic Skills.

Goal 3:
By the end of the school year 2016, Cupeyville School clubs will develop holistic individuals by providing experiences that foster leadership skills, social skills, empathy for social concerns, and appreciation of arts and science by engaging and evaluating students in diverse individual and group projects using as our baseline, club offerings, evidence of student participation and student and teacher feedback during the 2008-2009 school year:

  1. 15% of new clubs will be offered to students.
  2. 100% of student participation will increase.
  3. 100% of clubs will complete a project with an impact on the school community.

We will continue working together to make a positive difference in the academic excellence of our students.
